Practice Development
The term ‘practice development’ is commonly used to describe a variety of educational, research, quality and audit activities (Unsworth, 2000).
Nurse practice development in TSCUH is focused on direct care, and the nurse who delivers that care. Through an ongoing system of identification of best practices and the introduction and audit of measures taken to improve our nursing practices here at TSCUH we endeavor to remain at the forefront of Children’s healthcare provision in Ireland.
The Nurse Practice Development works closely with the other Children’s hospitals in Dublin under the ethos of ‘One Hospital; Three sites’ and many shared initiatives are currently underway to ensure the nursing care in each hospital is of an equally high standard.
