Advice to parents/ guardians on hospital charges

Pay-Online-BtnAll hospitals are obliged to charge for their services, in accordance with Department of Health guidelines. Public patients are charged €80 per day to a maximum of €800 in any 12 month period.

This charge is regardless of how many public hospitals a patient is admitted to, or the condition that requires treatment. Since there is no integrated payment system, (record of payment between hospitals) please be advised to keep a record of all hospital admissions.

In this regard it is very important that parents\guardians keep all receipts of payments made to hospitals, as proof of payment, and in order to discuss the number of days billed for, in any one year.
