Special precautions / Clinical Comment	Clinical details required for interpretation and appropriate follow-up. Requests for urgent tests MUST be made before 09.30 Mon-Fri. Discuss with Metabolic Lab ext 4458. FOR REFERRING LABS: 1. Urine pH should be measured. Where the pH≥8.5, microbial contamination is suspected, continue to dispatch urine sample to CHI at Temple Street and please request a repeat urine sample on the patient. 2. Please note that urine samples with a creatinine concentration bellow 0.4 mmol/L are too dilute for accurate analysis. When a dilute samples is received it is analysed to detect gross abnormalities and a repeat sample is requested. 3.Freeze promptly, no preservative. If any delay in freezing store at 4o C up to 4-6 hours (make note of delay on request form).
