The Catering Department is committed to providing our patients, staff and customers with good quality, nutritious food at all times taking into account food groups, optimum nutrition and the specific dietary needs of our patients.
The patient catering service team provides a full food service to over 100 patients daily from 9 ward kitchens, which are located throughout the hospital. The ward menu is based on a 4-week cycle offering a variety of healthy, wholesome and tasty dishes.
Some patients require special diets or may need modifications to the normal ward menu because of their medical condition. The dieticians will order these diets / modifications or extra snacks on the “Special Diets” Request Sheet.
Patients requiring special diets will be listed on the daily special diet sheet, which is issued to the diet kitchen daily from the ward staff.
In order to comply with Food Safety Regulations, we ask that parents do not bring outside food into the hospital for consumption.
The restaurant, which is located in the basement, is serviced from the main hospital kitchen. The restaurant caters for over 300 staff & visitors
The restaurant is open from 07.30am – 2.30pm Monday to Friday & 08.30am to 10.30am on Saturday & Sundays (Inc Bank Holidays) and is complemented by a food vending service. The lunch menu provides four main course options for lunch which includes:
