Children’s Neurosurgery Centre
About Our Service
The Children’s Neurosurgery Centre (CNC) at Children’s Health Ireland @ Temple St is a national centre for excellence providing care to any child in Ireland from 0-16yrs who requires neurosurgical care. Approximately 800 neurosurgical admissions and more than 550 neurosurgical procedures are carried out annually. Activity levels are among the highest across the paediatric neurosurgical centres in Ireland and the UK.
On average 1400 children are seen in the neurosurgical outpatients clinic every year. Urgent referrals are seen on the same day and we aim to see new referrals for outpatient review within 4 weeks. The CNC provides care for our patients in collaboration with the other clinical specialities at CHI at Temple St, with our colleagues across CHI and in Beaumont Hospital, St Luke’s Hospital Radiotherapy Services, The Central Remedial Clinic, Clontarf and the National Maternity Hospital, Holles St.
We are continuously working to build and strengthen our networks across paediatric services nationally, in both acute and community settings to improve the healthcare journey of each of our patients and their families.
