Survivorship after Cancer in Childhood/Adolescence Focus Groups
In Ireland, thousands of adults have survived cancer in childhood or adolescence. Many of these survivors have a range of long-term follow-up needs. The HSE National Cancer Control Programme (NCCP) is organising focus groups with adults who survived cancer as a child or teenager, and with parents of survivors, to better understand their needs.
Dublin – 23rd & 28th April
Cork – 26th April

In Ireland, thousands of adults have survived cancer in childhood or adolescence. Many of these survivors have a range of long-term follow-up needs. The HSE National Cancer Control Programme (NCCP) is organising focus groups with adults who survived cancer as a child or teenager, and with parents of survivors, to better understand their needs.
Who should take part?
- Adult survivors of childhood cancer, or parents of children/teenagers who have survived cancer.
- Adults with an interest in the use or provision of cancer survivorship services, particularly those who have used services for survivorship or follow-up care after childhood cancer. This includes:
- Adults (over age 18) who had cancer in childhood, and who are not under active treatment for cancer.
- Parents of children who had cancer within the past 20 years, and who are no longer under active treatment for cancer.
What does it involve? We want to find out what services were available to patients who had cancer in childhood and who have completed their treatment. We also want to find out the current needs of patients/survivors. All information will be treated in the strictest confidence. Participation is voluntary. No personal details will be requested.
What are the benefits of participating? The results of the focus groups will be used by NCCP and the HSE to inform the development and implementation of future cancer survivorship services.
Ready to take part? Email Peter on with the venue and date you would like to attend.
