World Health Organisation (WHO) Hand Hygiene Awareness Day (Wednesday 13th May)
WHO celebrates ten years of the ‘CLEANER CARE IS SAFER CARE’ programme from 2005 – 2015
The Temple Street Hand Hygiene Compliance Working Group (HHCWG) invites staff, parents, children and visitors to the Hand Hygiene Awareness Day celebrations this Wednesday 13th May from 10.30am – 12.30pm in the hospital’s Back Parlour.
There will be;
- Information and displays on ‘Chain of infection’, ‘Five moments for Hand hygiene’, the newly launched national hand hygiene guidelines (May 2015), results of hand hygiene audits, results of alcohol hand gel consumption and recent results from staff hand plating
- Demonstrations on the Sure Wash mobile hand hygiene training and assessment unit to assist people with learning the correct hand hygiene technique
- Access to the Glow Germ box to spot the glowing germs on your hands
- Displays of new hand hygiene posters created by school children
- Quizzes and plenty of prizes to win on the day
- Free give-aways of portable Spirigel bottles
